Augusztus végén Rómában rendezte meg 30. éves találkozóját az Európai Régészek Szövetsége (EAA). A konferencia hibrid formában került megrendezésre, így a regisztrált résztvevők a helyszínen és online is követhették a tudományos programot, illetve megtarthatták előadásaikat. A 2024-ben már több, mint ötezer tagot számláló EAA – amelynek jelenlegi elnöke Bánffy Eszter, Intézetünk tudományos tanácsadója – éves találkozója hagyományosan az örökségvédelem és a régészettudomány egyik legjelentősebb európai tudományos fóruma. Az augusztus 28. és 31. között megrendezett római konferenciára Magyarország számos intézményéből is érkeztek régész szakemberek.

A konferencia három napos programjában 7 fő téma köré csoportosulva összesen 363 szekcióban hangzottak el előadások. A HUN-REN BTK, Régészeti Intézet munkatársai több szekció szervezőjeként, illetve az alábbi előadások szerzőjeként vagy társszerzőjeként vettek részt az idei konferencián:
