The 10th Balkan Symposium on Archaeometry — Connecting Minds: Unveiling the Past Together international conference, jointly organized by the Institute for Geological and Geochemical Research, HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences, and the Institute of Archaeology, ELTE Research Centre for the Humanities, will be held between October 19 and 22, 2026. The international conference to be held in Budapest provides a unique opportunity for archaeologists, archaeometrists and scientists from the Balkans and beyond to meet and exchange ideas on the latest developments in archaeometry, archaeological science and heritage science. Attendees will also have the chance to present their latest research results spanning the prehistoric to early modern ages.
Between 22 and 24 April 2026, the international conference A World in Motion — Between Tradition and Transformation in the Tumulus Culture along the Danube will be held in Budapest at the Institute of Archaeology, Research Centre for the Humanities, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE RCH). The focus of this much-needed meeting is on the complex transformation processes that took place in the middle of the 2nd millennium BC. The aim of the conference is to initiate renewed dialogue and to provide a forum for researchers working on this period, with particular attention to representatives of the younger generation.
Az ELTE HTK Régészeti Kutatóintézetének előző év végén induló sorozatának második előadása 2026. február 3-án, délelőtt 10 órakor kerül megrendezésre (MTA Humán Tudományok Kutatóháza, B épület 2. emelet; Tanácsterem).
Újabb eredmények jelentek meg a ló háziasításának történetével kapcsolatban az Acta Archaeologica Hungaricae friss számában 2025 végén. Az eredmények alátámasztják, hogy a ma is élő házilovak előtt elterjedt lófajták megélték a középső bronzkort a Kárpát-medencében. A tanulmány az ELTE HTK Archeogenomikai Kutatóintézet és az MTA–ELTE HTK Lendület Bázis Kutatócsoport közös, a lovak Kr. e. 3. és 2. évezredi történetét vizsgáló kutatási programja keretében készült.
Hogyan dolgoznak együtt a régészek és az archeogenetikusok? Milyen módszertani és értelmezési kihívásokkal kell szembenézniük a kutatások során, és vajon miként kapcsolhatók össze a genetikai adatok a régészeti leletekkel? Hogyan értelmezhetjük a tudományos cikkekben publikált komlpex tudományos eredményeket?
Megjelent a 2024-ben Zágrábban Ceramics, People and Places - The Significance of Ceramics for the Study of Social Relations in the Middle Ages címmel tartott középkori kerámiakutatással foglalkozó nemzetközi konferencia kötete. A munka egy sor olyan tanulmányt tartalmaz, amelyek magyarországi nézőpontból is fontosak lehetnek, közte munkatársaink összefoglalóját a csókakői vár 15-17. századi anyagáról.

A Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Lendület Programja több mint másfél évtizede játszik meghatározó szerepet a tudományos kiválóság támogatásában, elősegítve a kiemelkedő, áttörő eredményekkel kecsegtető kutatócsoportok létrejöttét. Az MTA november végén ünnepelte a program fennállásának jubileumát. Ebből az alkalomból online elérhető kiadvány született a kezdeményezés történetről. A program 2026. évi pályázati felhívására az új, önálló kutatócsoportot alapítani kívánó fiatal kutatók pályázatait 2026. február végi határidővel várják.
