We are delighted to announce that the Scientific Committee has completed the evaluation of all abstracts submitted to the 10th Balkan Symposium on Archaeometry (10th BSA), which will take place in Budapest, Hungary, from 19–22 October 2026. The exceptionally high number of submissions reflects the growing international interest in archaeometry and heritage science.
Following the evaluation process, 111 contributions have been accepted for the scientific programme:
- 77 oral presentations
- 34 poster presentations
Due to the excellent response, the conference will feature two parallel sessions throughout the three conference days. We are therefore pleased to announce that the preliminary conference programme is now available, and online registration has officially opened.
We kindly ask all participants—including presenting authors, co-authors and attendees—to complete their registration by 31 August 2026.
Thanks to the generous support of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) Mecenatúra Programme, participation in the conference is free of charge.
Registration includes:
- Access to all conference lectures
- Coffee breaks throughout the conference
- An abstract book (for presenting authors)
- Participation in the Icebreaker Reception
Registration does not include:
- Lunches during the conference (self-paid)
- The Conference Dinner on 20 October (self-paid)
On the final day of the conference, 22 October 2026, participants will be able to choose from several guided visits, including the Aquincum Museum and Archaeological Park, Buda Castle and the Budapest History Museum, and the Budapest Neutron Centre. Further details will be announced soon.
